Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police officers and emergency services using CAD systems
- Provide critical information and instructions to callers during emergencies
- Maintain accurate incident logs and radio communications
- Operate multi-channel radio systems and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software
- Coordinate with other emergency agencies (fire, EMS) during multi-agency incidents
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and HIPAA compliance
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (verified by typing test)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure emergency situations
- Proficient with basic computer technology and software
- Must be at least 18 years old and a U.S. citizen
- Valid Kansas driver's license required
