Responsibilities

  • Monitor and dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls via radio, telephone, and computer-aided dispatch systems.
  • Enter and update detailed incident reports and information into the CAD system in real-time.
  • Provide critical information, instructions, and emotional support to callers during crisis situations.
  • Maintain accurate logs of all communications, activities, and resource status.
  • Coordinate with patrol units, fire services, and EMS to ensure efficient resource allocation and response times.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License at the time of appointment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Proficiency in typing (minimum 35 WPM) and computer navigation (Windows OS).
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation, polygraph exam, and drug screen.
  • Must be willing to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends.
