Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with precision and empathy
- Operate CAD/RMS systems and radio communication equipment
- Coordinate resources during active incidents and natural disasters
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and activities
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers until responders arrive
- Collaborate with cross-agency partners (fire, EMS, hospitals)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Must pass background check, polygraph, and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (test administered during hiring process)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Fluency in English (bilingual Spanish/English highly desired)
- Valid California driver's license
- No felony convictions or domestic violence restraining orders
