Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police units using radio communication systems with precise location details
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation in CAD systems
- Provide critical information to field units during active incidents
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major emergencies
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) and mapping software
- De-escalate caller situations while gathering essential information
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Valid California driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check and psychological evaluation
- Proficient in multitasking and high-stress decision-making
- Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn specialized software
- Fluency in English (Spanish bilingual skills highly valued)
- No felony convictions and U.S. citizenship required
