Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls using CAD/RMS systems with 100% accuracy
- Operate multi-channel radio systems to dispatch police units and coordinate emergency responses
- Provide critical information to officers and other first responders during active incidents
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and incidents per department protocols
- Utilize de-escalation techniques during high-stress interactions with callers
- Collaborate with fire, EMS, and other agencies during multi-jurisdictional emergencies
- Participate in continuous training on new technologies and emergency procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure environments with exceptional composure
- Clear articulation and active listening skills for effective communication
- Proficiency with computer systems and willingness to learn specialized software
- Pass comprehensive background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Must be 18+ years old with valid Minnesota driver's license
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with high accuracy
