Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching appropriate resources
- Operate radio systems and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software
- Remain calm and professional during critical incidents
- Accurately document call details and maintain records
- Coordinate with multiple agencies (fire, EMS, police) during emergencies
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers when applicable
- Adhere to department policies and confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- Clear communication skills (verbal and written)
- Basic computer proficiency and typing speed (40+ WPM)
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Must be 18+ years old and legally eligible to work in the US
- Valid Arizona driver's license within 30 days of hire
- No felony convictions
