Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls using Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems
- Coordinate with law enforcement, fire, and EMS units during critical incidents
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of all communications
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers during emergency situations
- Monitor multiple radio channels simultaneously for real-time situational awareness
- Operate emergency equipment including radios, telephones, and alert systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass a thorough background check and polygraph examination
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Fluency in English and Spanish (bilingual preferred)
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Valid Texas driver's license upon hire
