Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls for police, fire, and medical services
- Operate multi-line telephone systems and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers and field units during critical incidents
- Monitor radio communications and coordinate resources during emergencies
- Maintain accurate incident documentation and activity logs
- Collaborate with law enforcement, fire, and EMS personnel
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and procedural standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 35+ WPM (tested during application process)
- Clear speaking voice with excellent communication skills
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure and multitask effectively
- Basic computer proficiency with willingness to learn specialized dispatch software
- No criminal history (felony or misdemeanor domestic violence convictions disqualify)
- Must be US citizen or legal resident authorized to work
