Responsibilities
- Process 911 emergency calls and prioritize dispatch resources efficiently
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and radio communication equipment
- Maintain detailed incident logs and documentation in compliance with protocols
- Coordinate with officers, fire departments, and EMS during critical incidents
- Provide crisis intervention and clear instructions to callers during emergencies
- Participate in continuous training to enhance emergency response skills
- Collaborate with multi-agency teams during large-scale operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and quick-learning of specialized software
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Must be available for flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- No prior criminal convictions (felony or misdemeanor)
