Responsibilities
- Process emergency calls and dispatch police units using CAD systems
- Maintain accurate incident logs and documentation
- Coordinate with multiple agencies during critical incidents
- Provide clear instructions to callers during emergencies
- Monitor radio communications and prioritize dispatches
- Operate multi-channel communication equipment
- Participate in continuous training and certification programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM
- Valid Michigan driver's license
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
- Basic computer proficiency with Windows OS
