Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency calls for police, fire, and medical services
- Dispatch appropriate units using CAD/RMS systems with precision
- Maintain accurate logs of all communications and incidents
- Provide critical information to responders during active incidents
- Operate radio equipment, telephones, and emergency alert systems
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during large-scale emergencies
- Train on departmental protocols and crisis management procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- US citizenship and valid Massachusetts driver's license
- Ability to pass extensive background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 90% accuracy
- Exceptional communication and multitasking abilities
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses
- Must be available for rotating shifts (24/7 coverage)
