Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls using CAD/RMS systems
- Dispatch police units and coordinate resources during critical incidents
- Maintain accurate incident logs and update real-time information
- Provide clear communication to officers, agencies, and the public
- Operate radio equipment and multi-line telephone systems
- Follow protocols for crisis intervention and emergency procedures
- Collaborate with other public safety agencies (fire, EMS)
- Complete mandatory training programs and certification requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- U.S. citizenship and valid Hawaii driver's license
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Strong typing skills (minimum 35 WPM)
- Clear communication and active listening abilities
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure situations
- Basic computer proficiency with willingness to learn specialized software
- No prior law enforcement experience required – training provided
