Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls using CAD/RMS systems
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units with precise location and incident details
- Maintain accurate radio communication protocols during high-stress situations
- Enter/update critical data in law enforcement databases
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
- Provide pre-arrival emergency medical instructions via phone
- Monitor surveillance feeds and alert field units to public safety concerns
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 40 WPM typing certification (required post-hire)
- Ability to pass background check and polygraph examination
- Valid driver's license with clean record
- US citizenship or permanent residency status
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/holidays
- Basic computer proficiency (Windows OS, data entry)
- Clear speaking voice and calm demeanor under pressure
