Responsibilities
- Answer and process incoming emergency (911) and non-emergency calls with precision and urgency.
- Utilize Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems to log details and track unit status in real-time.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incident locations efficiently.
- Monitor radio frequencies and maintain constant situational awareness during active incidents.
- Communicate effectively with field units, supervisors, and other agencies during multi-agency events.
- Perform multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, including typing, listening, and monitoring screens simultaneously.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Valid North Carolina Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, drug screening, and medical examination.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic computer literacy and typing skills are preferred.
