Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize incoming emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and EMS units to incident locations using Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Collect and relay critical information to responding units, including location, nature of the call, and status updates.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all communications, logs, and incident reports.
- Monitor radio frequencies and CCTV feeds to provide real-time situational awareness.
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers when professional help is en route.
- Assist in the training of new dispatch personnel.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to multitask effectively while managing high-stress situations.
- Proficiency with computer systems and data entry is preferred.
- Willingness to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
