Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via phone, radio, and digital systems
- Dispatch police units using CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) software with precision
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of all communications
- Coordinate with multiple agencies (EMS, Fire, etc.) during emergencies
- Operate radio systems and specialized communication equipment
- Perform data entry and record management tasks
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass background check, polygraph, and drug screening
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (will be tested)
- U.S. citizenship and valid California driver's license
- Ability to work rotating shifts (24/7 coverage required)
- Clear speaking voice and excellent communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- No felony convictions
