As a Dispatcher Trainee, you will be the first point of contact for emergency and non-emergency calls. You will play a critical role in coordinating police responses and ensuring public safety. We offer a comprehensive training program to help you succeed in this high-stakes environment.
Responsibilities
- Receive, screen, and prioritize incoming emergency and non-emergency calls.
- Dispatch police units and support personnel to incident locations using two-way radio systems.
- Enter and update incident reports and records in the CAD system accurately and timely.
- Maintain constant situational awareness and provide accurate information to field units.
- Monitor status boards and coordinate resources during major incidents or events.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must possess a valid Texas Class C Driver's License and a good driving record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Ability to type at least 35-40 WPM is highly preferred.
- Must be able to work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, and nights.
