Responsibilities

  • Receive and process incoming emergency and non-emergency calls via radio, telephone, and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
  • Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services units to the scene of incidents with speed and accuracy.
  • Enter and update incident reports, warrants, and citations into the CAD system accurately and rapidly.
  • Maintain constant radio contact with field units and provide critical updates regarding officer safety and incident status.
  • Monitor CCTV cameras and access control systems for facility security.
  • Provide information and assistance to the public, other agencies, and medical personnel.
  • Handle stressful situations with composure and de-escalate conflict during phone calls.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record required.
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation, drug screen, and medical examination.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely.
  • Strong typing skills (minimum 35-40 WPM preferred).
  • Ability to remain calm and make quick, accurate decisions under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
