As a key frontline defender, you'll operate advanced screening technology, conduct passenger and baggage inspections, and maintain strict security protocols at Wichita Dwight D. Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray scanners, metal detectors, and other TSA screening equipment to detect prohibited items
- Conduct thorough physical searches of passengers and carry-on baggage using pat-down techniques
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes for compliance with TSA regulations
- Maintain orderly screening lanes while providing clear instructions to travelers
- Respond to security incidents with calm professionalism and follow established procedures
- Document screening activities and maintain detailed security logs
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Valid state driver's license (if operating airport vehicles)
- Ability to stand for extended periods in fast-paced environments
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and carry up to 35 pounds repeatedly
- Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation
