Responsibilities
- Monitor and respond to emergency (911) and non-emergency radio frequencies and telephone lines with speed and accuracy.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical personnel to incidents using Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Accurately gather and relay critical information, including location, nature of call, and units needed.
- Maintain real-time status updates for all responding units and manage unit availability.
- Provide administrative support to the communications center, including data entry and report generation.
- Collaborate with other emergency services agencies to coordinate multi-agency responses.
- Remain calm and professional under pressure, maintaining clear communication during high-stress situations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task effectively while maintaining high attention to detail.
- Proficiency with computer systems and the ability to learn new software quickly.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Candidate must pass a comprehensive background check, drug screen, and medical evaluation.
