Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency/non-emergency calls with calm professionalism and precise information gathering
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and radio equipment for police, fire, and medical units
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation per department protocols
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents with clear, concise communication
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers in emergency situations
- Participate in continuous training programs to maintain certification and procedural expertise
- Collaborate with law enforcement personnel to ensure field unit safety and efficiency
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Ability to pass extensive background check and psychological evaluation
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to remain composed under extreme pressure
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with high accuracy
- Must be U.S. citizen or legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor domestic violence charges
- Availability for rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn specialized dispatch software
