Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with professionalism and precision
- Dispatch police officers and emergency services to incidents using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain accurate logs of all communications and activities
- Provide crisis intervention and critical information to callers during emergencies
- Operate radio equipment and multi-line telephone systems
- Collaborate with law enforcement and other public safety agencies
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and departmental procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Must be at least 18 years old and a U.S. citizen
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm and make critical decisions under pressure
- Basic computer proficiency and typing speed (minimum 35 WPM)
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
