Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency (911) and non-emergency calls from the public and other agencies.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incidents with accuracy and speed.
- Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all calls, incidents, and unit activities.
- Monitor and operate radio communication equipment to coordinate field operations.
- Provide information and assistance to citizens regarding police, fire, and emergency services.
- Assist in training new dispatch personnel and maintaining departmental procedures.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Texas Class C Driverβs License and a satisfactory driving record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to type at least 35 words per minute.
- Strong decision-making skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- U.S. Citizenship or legal right to work in the United States.
