  • Monitor multiple radio frequencies to maintain situational awareness and coordinate multi-unit responses.
  • Provide clear, concise instructions and critical information to field personnel and distressed callers.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed logs and records of all communications and dispatched units.
  • Collaborate with other city agencies and support units to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Assist in the training and orientation of new dispatch personnel.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Valid California Class C Driver’s License required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on clarity and professionalism.
  • Ability to type a minimum of 35-40 words per minute.
  • Must possess no felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
