Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls from the public.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incident scenes.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of all communications and dispatches.
- Monitor police department surveillance cameras and radio channels.
- Provide critical information to officers in the field to ensure officer safety.
- Coordinate inter-agency responses during large-scale incidents.
- Update crime maps and status information in real-time computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to type at least 40 words per minute accurately.
- Strong ability to multitask and remain calm under high-pressure situations.
- Must pass a thorough background investigation and drug screening.
- Valid driver's license is required.
