Responsibilities
- Sort and Process Incoming Mail: Organize, bundle, and prepare mail for delivery using automated sorting systems and manual methods.
- Deliver Packages and Letters: Safely and efficiently transport mail to residential and business addresses throughout the Virginia Beach area.
- Provide Customer Service: Interact with customers to answer inquiries and resolve delivery issues professionally.
- Vehicle and Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and cleaning of delivery vehicles and sorting machinery.
- Route Management: Plan and follow established delivery routes to meet daily quotas and time standards.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and the public.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent resident status.
- Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required for most carrier positions.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift packages weighing up to 70 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal history background check and a pre-employment drug screening.
- Education: High school diploma or GED is preferred; applicants with equivalent experience are encouraged to apply.
