Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic communications plans for county initiatives
- Manage media relations and serve as primary spokesperson for assigned departments
- Coordinate crisis communications protocols and public alerts
- Oversee social media content and digital engagement strategies
- Produce press releases, reports, and public-facing materials
- Collaborate with community leaders and government stakeholders
- Analyze public sentiment and adjust messaging strategies accordingly
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in government/public affairs communications
- Proven crisis management and media relations expertise
- Advanced proficiency with digital communication tools and CMS
- Valid Florida driver's license
- Strong writing/editing skills with portfolio samples
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends
- Spanish fluency preferred
