Responsibilities
- Process and verify eligibility for state benefit programs including Medicaid, SNAP, and TANF
- Provide direct customer service to applicants via phone, email, and in-person appointments
- Maintain accurate case documentation and compliance records in state systems
- Collaborate with community partners to outreach underserved populations
- Train and assist new staff on program policies and procedures
- Generate monthly performance reports and process improvement recommendations
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in social work, public administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1+ years customer service or case management experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and state database systems
- Valid North Carolina driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass criminal background check and fingerprinting
- Strong bilingual skills in Spanish highly preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including occasional weekends
