Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies for city departments
- Create press releases, newsletters, and digital content across multiple platforms
- Manage media relations and serve as primary spokesperson for assigned initiatives
- Analyze audience engagement metrics and optimize communication approaches
- Coordinate crisis communication protocols and public information responses
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging
- Produce annual reports and executive communications for public officials
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of professional communications experience
- Portfolio demonstrating strategic content creation and campaign management
- Proficiency in CMS platforms, Adobe Creative Suite, and analytics tools
- Valid California driver's license with clean driving record
- Experience working with government/public sector entities preferred
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
