Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic public health programs addressing infectious disease prevention, maternal health, and chronic disease management
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify emerging health threats and recommend evidence-based interventions
- Coordinate cross-agency partnerships with state health officials, community organizations, and healthcare providers
- Oversee program budgets, grant applications, and compliance with CDC/DOH regulations
- Lead crisis response teams during public health emergencies including natural disasters and disease outbreaks
- Prepare comprehensive reports for city council and executive leadership on program metrics and outcomes
- Train staff on health equity principles and culturally competent service delivery
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field (MPH preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in public health program management or municipal health services
- Valid Florida Public Health Administrator certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Proficiency in health data analytics tools (SPSS, SAS, or Tableau)
- Demonstrated success in securing federal/state grants ($500k+ preferred)
- Knowledge of Florida Statutes Chapter 381 and CDC guidelines
- Experience managing budgets exceeding $1M and teams of 10+ professionals
- Strong written/verbal communication skills for public testimony and stakeholder engagement
