As a key member of our Epidemiology and Surveillance team, you'll collaborate with healthcare providers, local health departments, and community organizations to identify emerging health trends and evaluate intervention effectiveness. Responsibilities
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify public health trends and prioritize intervention strategies
- Develop comprehensive health impact assessments for state-wide policy initiatives
- Coordinate with community stakeholders to implement evidence-based health programs
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for legislative stakeholders and agency leadership
- Manage surveillance systems for chronic disease outbreaks and environmental health hazards
- Lead cross-functional teams in quality improvement initiatives for public health services
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations (CDC, CMS) and state reporting requirements
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in public health data analysis or program evaluation
- Proficiency in statistical software (R, SAS, SPSS) and database management
- Valid North Carolina driver's license and ability to travel statewide
- Experience with federal grant reporting and budget management for health programs
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and public health data privacy regulations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with diverse audiences
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or eligible for certification within 6 months
