Responsibilities
- Develop and execute county-wide emergency preparedness plans for public health crises
- Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies during emergency activations
- Lead incident command operations for public health emergencies
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for emerging threats
- Oversee distribution of emergency supplies and medical resources
- Train public health staff and community partners on response protocols
- Monitor disease trends and provide real-time threat assessments
- Secure grant funding for emergency preparedness initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years experience in public health emergency response
- Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or equivalent credential
- Expertise in Incident Command System (ICS) and NIMS protocols
- Strong analytical skills for risk assessment and strategic planning
- Exceptional crisis communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Experience securing federal/state emergency preparedness grants
- Ability to work under extreme pressure with minimal supervision
