Responsibilities
- Lead emergency response operations during public health crises (e.g., pandemics, natural disasters)
- Develop and implement disease surveillance systems for early threat detection
- Coordinate multi-agency responses with FEMA, CDC, and local healthcare providers
- Manage public health emergency communication strategies for diverse communities
- Analyze epidemiological data to inform resource allocation and policy decisions
- Conduct tabletop exercises and after-action reviews to improve response protocols
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in public health emergency response or crisis management
- Certification in Incident Command System (ICS-300) or equivalent
- Proficiency in ESRI GIS mapping for health data visualization
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure with multiple stakeholders
- Valid California driver's license and ability to travel county-wide
- Knowledge of CA Public Health Code and federal emergency frameworks
