Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of food establishments, childcare facilities, and public pools
- Investigate public health complaints and enforce regulatory compliance
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records
- Educate business owners and operators on health safety protocols
- Collaborate with state health agencies on outbreak investigations
- Testify in administrative hearings regarding regulatory violations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or related field
- Valid Texas Health Inspector certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Minimum 2 years experience in environmental health or regulatory compliance
- Strong knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety regulations
- Excellent written communication and report-writing skills
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred
