Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of food establishments, childcare facilities, and public swimming pools
- Investigate public health complaints and disease outbreaks
- Enforce local health ordinances and state regulations
- Provide educational outreach to food service operators and community groups
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with emergency response teams during public health crises
- Testify in administrative hearings regarding code violations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of regulatory inspection experience
- Valid Wisconsin Certified Food Manager certification
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Experience with inspection management software (e.g., i-Sight)
