Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of food establishments, childcare centers, and public facilities
- Investigate health complaints and enforce local health ordinances
- Issue violation notices and ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Collaborate with community stakeholders on health education initiatives
- Maintain detailed inspection records and prepare regulatory reports
- Respond to public health emergencies and disease outbreaks
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Environmental Science, or related field
- Valid Texas Public Health Inspector certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Minimum 2 years' experience in regulatory compliance or health inspections
- Strong knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety regulations
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish preferred
