Responsibilities
- Design and execute comprehensive epidemiological studies to identify emerging health threats
- Analyze complex health datasets to inform statewide policy recommendations
- Collaborate with federal agencies (CDC, NIH) on grant-funded research projects
- Develop public health emergency response protocols for natural disasters
- Present findings to legislative committees and state health officials
- Mentor junior analysts and oversee departmental data quality initiatives
- Lead cross-functional teams for community health intervention programs
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive public health analysis experience
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (R, SAS, SPSS)
- Valid Ohio Public Health Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Demonstrated experience with CDC surveillance systems
- Strong background in health policy development and implementation
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
