Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of restaurants, childcare facilities, and public buildings
- Investigate health complaints and environmental hazards
- Enforce local health codes and sanitation regulations
- Collaborate with emergency response teams during outbreaks
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and legal documentation
- Educate businesses and residents on health compliance
- Testify in regulatory hearings and court proceedings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health or related field
- Minimum 2 years environmental health experience
- Ohio Public Health Sanitation Inspector certification
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and FDA regulations
- Valid Ohio driver's license and reliable transportation
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
