Responsibilities
- Investigate disease outbreaks and conduct epidemiological surveillance across NYC communities
- Collect and analyze health data to identify emerging public health threats
- Coordinate with healthcare providers, laboratories, and community organizations
- Develop and implement outbreak control measures per CDC/NYS guidelines
- Prepare detailed investigation reports and recommend evidence-based interventions
- Provide public health education to diverse populations in multiple languages
- Participate in emergency response drills and real-time crisis management
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of field investigation experience in public health
- Certification in Emergency Response or Crisis Management
- Proficiency in health data analysis tools (SPSS, Epi Info)
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish, Mandarin, or Bengali
- Valid New York State driver's license
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights/weekends during outbreaks
- Experience with HIPAA-compliant data management
