Responsibilities
- Conduct urgent field investigations for reportable diseases and outbreaks
- Collect and analyze epidemiological data using surveillance systems
- Coordinate with healthcare providers, labs, and community partners
- Implement contact tracing protocols for infectious disease control
- Document findings in electronic health records and reporting databases
- Provide health education to at-risk populations
- Assist with emergency response during public health crises
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of public health investigation experience
- Certified in contact tracing (e.g., APHL program)
- Proficiency with electronic health records and surveillance software
- Valid Illinois driver's license with reliable transportation
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends
- Experience with COVID-19 response protocols
