Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate public health policies aligned with CDC guidelines
- Analyze epidemiological data to inform strategic health initiatives
- Coordinate with federal agencies including HHS and NIH for grant compliance
- Prepare legislative briefings for DC Council members and stakeholders
- Lead cross-departmental task forces on health equity initiatives
- Manage $5M+ federal grant programs with rigorous reporting requirements
- Conduct community needs assessments across all eight wards
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Public Policy, or related field
- 3+ years experience in government or non-profit health policy
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis software (R, SAS, SPSS)
- Expert knowledge of federal healthcare regulations (ACA, HIPAA)
- Proven grant management experience with federal awards
- Valid DC government security clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Strong written communication skills for policy documents
