Responsibilities
- Analyze complex public health data to identify trends and inform policy recommendations
- Develop and evaluate evidence-based health policies aligned with state and federal guidelines
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement public health initiatives
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for stakeholders and legislative bodies
- Monitor policy implementation effectiveness and recommend adjustments
- Stay current on emerging public health issues and best practices
- Represent the department at community meetings and conferences
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Public Policy, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in health policy analysis or related role
- Strong proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., SAS, R, SPSS)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with grant writing and program evaluation
- Knowledge of Texas public health systems and regulations
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Valid Texas driver's license (required for travel)
