Responsibilities
- Conduct community health assessments and epidemiological surveillance to identify emerging health threats
- Develop, implement, and evaluate targeted public health interventions for chronic disease prevention
- Coordinate with community partners to deliver culturally competent health education programs
- Manage data collection and reporting for state-mandated health initiatives
- Lead emergency preparedness activities for public health crises
- Provide technical assistance to local healthcare providers on public health protocols
- Advocate for health equity policies at the local and state levels
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Nursing, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of public health program implementation experience
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or willing to obtain within 6 months
- Proficiency in health data analysis tools (SPSS, SAS, or R)
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required
- Strong project management skills with ability to manage competing priorities
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
