Responsibilities
- Analyze legislative proposals and regulatory impacts using quantitative/qualitative research methods
- Develop comprehensive policy briefs and implementation roadmaps for city council review
- Coordinate public engagement initiatives including town halls and stakeholder workshops
- Monitor federal/state policy changes and assess implications for local government operations
- Prepare data-driven reports for executive leadership and interdepartmental committees
- Collaborate with budget office to align policy recommendations with fiscal constraints
- Represent the city at regional policy forums and intergovernmental meetings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Urban Planning, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years experience in government affairs or policy analysis role
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and statistical analysis
- Deep understanding of Indiana state legislative processes and municipal governance structures
- Exceptional written/oral communication skills with demonstrated report-writing ability
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Valid Indiana driver's license and ability to travel to community sites as needed
