Responsibilities
- Analyze legislative proposals and assess potential impacts on county operations and residents
- Conduct comprehensive research on public policy issues including housing, transportation, and economic development
- Prepare detailed policy briefs and recommendations for county leadership
- Coordinate with community stakeholders and government agencies to gather input
- Monitor implementation of adopted policies and evaluate effectiveness
- Present findings to public officials and community groups
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SPSS, or R)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of New Mexico state and local government processes
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Valid New Mexico driver's license
