Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls for police, fire, and medical services
- Dispatch appropriate resources using CAD systems and radio communications
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major emergencies
- Operate specialized emergency communication equipment
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Minimum 1 year customer service or call center experience
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Valid California driver's license
- Ability to pass extensive background check and psychological evaluation
- Proficiency in computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure
- Fluency in English; bilingual Spanish highly desirable
