Responsibilities
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units with exceptional accuracy and urgency during night hours
- Maintain detailed logs of all emergency communications using CAD/RMS systems
- Provide critical life-saving instructions via phone during medical emergencies
- Coordinate multi-agency responses for complex incidents like fires and accidents
- Monitor alarm systems and security cameras for city facilities
- Stay current on Cleveland's geography and emergency protocols
- Collaborate with shift supervisors for seamless incident escalation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
- Minimum 1 year dispatch, public safety, or call center experience
- National Emergency Number Association (NENA) certification
- Valid Ohio driver's license with clean record
- Ability to pass rigorous background check and polygraph examination
- Proficiency in CAD/RMS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Exceptional stress management and multitasking abilities
- Fluent in English; bilingual candidates strongly encouraged
