Responsibilities
- Process 911 and non-emergency calls with exceptional accuracy and empathy
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical units using CAD systems during weekend shifts
- Maintain detailed incident documentation and coordinate multi-agency responses
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers during medical emergencies
- Monitor radio communications and ensure field unit safety protocols
- Participate in continuous training for crisis scenarios and new technologies
- Adhere to strict confidentiality standards and HIPAA regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 2 years customer service experience
- Valid Oregon driver's license and clear criminal background check
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure emergency environments
- Proficiency in computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills
- Completion of EMD/EMS dispatch certification within 6 months
- Ability to work flexible weekends and holidays consistently
