Responsibilities
- Dispatch police, fire, and emergency medical services with precision and urgency
- Maintain radio communications during weekend shifts and critical incidents
- Operate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems and emergency databases
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers during medical emergencies
- Document all incidents accurately in compliance with state regulations
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during weekend events and disasters
- Perform shift-change briefings and system checks
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Minimum 1 year dispatch/emergency services experience
- National Emergency Number Association (NENA) certification required
- Valid Nebraska driver's license with clean record
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to work rotating weekend shifts (Fri/Sat/Sun)
- Proficiency in CAD systems and multi-line telephony
- Pass comprehensive background check and psychological evaluation
