As a key member of the Public Safety Division, you'll work collaboratively with law enforcement, fire services, and emergency management teams. Responsibilities
- Monitor public areas and enforce municipal codes, ordinances, and safety regulations
- Respond to emergency calls, incidents, and public safety concerns with appropriate protocols
- Conduct regular patrols of city facilities, parks, and special events
- Document incidents, prepare detailed reports, and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services during critical incidents
- Provide public education on safety procedures and community awareness programs
- Operate communication systems and safety equipment following established protocols
- Participate in emergency preparedness drills and continuous training initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Valid Arizona Driver's License with clean driving record
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 months of hire
- Minimum 2 years experience in public safety, security, or related field
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Proficient in de-escalation techniques and conflict resolution
- Clear background check and successful completion of psychological evaluation
- Strong communication skills with ability to interact effectively with diverse populations
